About Us
Who We Are
Hi and thanks for stopping by our website! If you are searching for a church home or trying to find a place to belong, we want you to know that you are welcome here. When you do visit, stop by the “Ripple Café” for coffee on us! If you have children, we have age-appropriate programs for your kids during the services, or they can join you in church. It is our hope that you will feel engaged by the worship, challenged with the message and welcomed by our church family. It can be frightening to find a fellowship when you are new, but if you do find a connection here at Cheyenne Hills, let me be the first to tell you welcome home!

HISTORY AND BELIEFS

CHURCH HISTORY
Cheyenne Hills Church began in 1992 to reach the unchurched of Cheyenne*. Our founding Pastor, Dick Young, began with only 30 people meeting at Children’s University. Today, with two weekend services on our newly expanded campus east of Cheyenne, we continue to expand our reach “Across the Street and Around the World.”
*At that time, a demographic study found that 20,000 in Cheyenne did not attend any church, the largest void in the state.

OUR VISION
10,000 Souls Saved
OUR MISSION
Helping people become fully surrendered disciple-makers of Jesus Christ. (Great Commission Matthew 28:19-20)
THE WORD OF GOD
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
THE TRINITY
We believe that there is one living God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in his substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for his people and personal visible return to the earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.
REGENERATION
We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
THE CHURCH
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.
TWO "ORDINANCES"
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances (decrees or prescribed religious rites) to the local church; Baptism and Communion (or the Lord’s Supper). We believe that Christian Baptism is immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that Communion was instituted by Christ for commemoration of his death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
LAST THINGS
We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of his kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal felicity of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The Bible is our standard, prayer fuels ministry, our personal life with Christ is the best thing we have to offer others, we will not tolerate immorality in our leadership, we will maintain open, honest relationships on our teams and ask forgiveness when we hurt another person

MEET THE PASTOR
DR. GALEN HUCK
Lead Pastor
Dr. Galen Huck has served in full-time ministry since 1993 with an emphasis on team leadership, relational evangelism, and world missions. Empowered leadership and church planting have been signatures of his work over the years, with a special focus on coming alongside church planting pastors in Utah, Greece, India, and Uganda. He summarizes his driving purpose in ministry as 'wouldn't it be great if 10,000 souls are in glory as a result of our work here on earth?'
Dr. Huck and his wife Mary Kay both grew up in farming and ranching families. Five years after graduating from Kansas State University, they found themselves at Dallas Theological Seminary, studying for the ministry. They were in Cheyenne from 1993 to 1997, helping launch Cheyenne Hills Church as an associate pastor under Dick Young before stepping out again as the founding pastor of Rock Creek Church in Louisville, Colorado. In March of 2008, the Lord called them back to Cheyenne Hills. In this season of life, his favorite things include being a grandparent (with MK, his bride since 1983) and being part of Cheyenne's great team roping community.
JON SIMPSON
Associate Pastor
Pastor Jon Simpson has served in vocational ministry for over 20 years, but it all began as a lay youth leader in the small country church his wife Mary's parents helped start the year she was born. He and Mary have been married for 34 years, and together they have three grown children, all of whom are married and have families of their own.
Serving as a Pastor of Student Ministries, Church Planter, Campus Pastor, and Lead Pastor, Jon loves helping reach people for Jesus and helping them grow to maturity. His mission statement is "To Connect People to God." This involves helping people experience a personal relationship with God and grow through that connection.
With the belief that the church is the vehicle for God's movement on earth today and the desire to reach as many people as possible, Jon loves building up the church. His conviction is that the church should be run in such a way as to accomplish the mission Jesus gave us, which is to make disciples, baptize them (into the church community), and teach them to obey what Jesus commanded.
Jon now serves as an Associate Pastor at Cheyenne Hills, overseeing groups and working to see people grow to be able to reproduce themselves by making other disciples where they live, work, and play.
